TEST - BAVARIA SR41
WHAT A YACHT
Moored stern-to, with the large bathing platform invitingly
lowered to pontoon level, she seems to whisper:
Come on board! An easy step, on to a splendid yacht.
With plenty of space here on the aft deck and in the
cockpit under the dynamically curved roof, which can
be opened to let in sunshine or starlight. A little further forward,
a perfect, professional-looking helmstand - with a fully-grown
sunbed opposite on the other side of the companionway, which
leads to more pleasant surprises.
But let's stay on deck for now. Because this much is clear: This is
where most of life on board will take place. Enjoying the life outside,
in the sun, that is what this yacht is made for, even if it also
has a remarkable interior below deck. The Bavaria SR 41, as the
name suggests, combines the best of the sporty Bavaria S-Line
and the comfortable R-Line. She is available in three versions, as
Hard Top, Soft Top and Coupé. As already mentioned, the cockpit
canopy can be opened in the first two versions to enjoy even more
air and sun: The transition from "outside" to "inside" is smooth.
On the very outside, right at the stern, you almost sit with your
feet in the water, to say - in a beautiful lounge sofa, around a table
and directly in front of the large bathing platform. If required, the
seating can very easily and quickly be converted into an inviting
and quite large sunbed. A wonderful place, especially when the
ship is at anchor!
A little further forward then, one step further into the "cockpit", the
next positive surprise. First of all, I wouldn't really call this area a
cockpit, it's more like the partially covered and sheltered aft deck
of a much larger yacht. Somehow, the SR 41 manages to convey
this feeling of being on a truly large yacht, but of course she is
not so small to begin with. Anyway, what we find here is a highly
comfortable dinette with comfy seating for up to eight people. And
as if that wasn’t enough, right across from it is a large bar, which
is much more than that - fully equipped for cooling, cooking and
barbecuing, including even a small sink. It's really no problem to
prepare a nice lunch or even a big dinner for guests and friends
on board! And all this, let's not forget, al fresco, outdoors, with the
panoramas of either the harbour or the anchorage as an exquisite
and entertaining bonus.
