BAVARIA YACHT SPECIAL - 40 YEARS
“IN THE FUTURE BAVARIA WILL FULFIL THE EXPECTATIONS OF
WATER SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS WORLDWIDE WITH THE MOTTO: „A
BETTER BOATING EXPERIENCE“. BE IT SAILING YACHTS, MOTORBOATS
OR CATAMARANS, THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH BETTER
PERFORMANCE, HIGHER COMFORT AND EASIER HANDLING WITH
HIGH VALUE RETENTION.
IN ADDITION, THE BAVARIA YACHTS WILL SCORE WITH UNBEATABLE
ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION QUALITY IN A CONTEMPORARY
PREMIUM DESIGN.”
JERNEJ AND JAPEC JAKOPIN, J&J DESIGN
The first design orders included the
Bavaria 30+ and the Bavaria 44. With the
follow-up order of the Bavaria 33, the boat
of the year 1996 award was given - and
innumerable other awards for Bavaria
yachts were to follow. The strength of J
& J is their absolute passion for water
sports, their pragmatic approach, the 7th
sense for yachts that work in everyday
life. What was required - and today this
is even more important than ever - was
active participation. The design concept
has also been geared towards rational,
automated serial production. The
Production is constantly being optimized;
precisely defined work steps and inspections
of materials and production increase
the quality of construction and ensure
maximum safety.
With their broad experience, J & J have
qualified as ideal design partners for
Bavaria Yachts, whether for sailing or for
motor boats. Efficient and successful
yacht concepts today are no longer successful
throws by outstanding design magicians
such as Herreshoff or Fife, but are
a functioning mix of creativity, know-how
and style, paired with intelligent software
and powerful computers. In the in-house
design department of Bavaria Yachts, the
plans of the external architects are put
to the acid test, implemented and further
refined where necessary. Here, detailed
improvements or production-related adjustments
can be coordinated directly on
site in consultation with the boatbuilding
experts.
Where the journey goes
What should the boats of the future look
like? What demands does the customer
of the new generation have? How is
the “zeitgeist” developing? Nobody is a
clairvoyant and quite some prognosis did
not stand the comparison with the future.
Customer surveys and market observations
can contribute to hedging. But most
of the time the wishes of the customers
are based on well-known facts. Even Henry
Ford already stated, «Had I had asked
people what they wanted, they would have
said faster horses.» Steve Jobs has also
shown us that we have desires whicht we
actually don’t know-until we get to see the
object of desire for the first time.
The world is talking about foiling - should
one go this way? Electric, hybrid propulsion,
solar power - what will prevail, what
should be included in future concepts?
Cruise slowly or glide fast? Should sailing
yachts offer more performance or rather
more space to live? Open Space or separate
functional areas? At J & J, where the
Power-Line Bavaria R Coupe and Fly have
just caused a sensation, one can not look
behind the scene. The vision is clear (see
quote from J & J), new projects already in
the pipeline. The way there will be exciting
and full of surprises.
