The new Bavaria C45. A sailing yacht of
13,98 metres with superyacht features
such as a BBQ grill with wet bar in the
cockpit, a dinghy garage in the stern and
the option of, apart from the classic 3 or
4-cabin versions, to also order a 5-cabin
layout. And these are only three of a long
list of innovative features on this yacht.
The sleek hull with its three large hull
windows, a low coach-roof with a long window
116
band and other stylish details let the
profile of the BAVARIA C 45 look similar to
the silhouette of a superyacht. All hatches
for the clever light and ventilation concept
of the Bavaria C45 are mounted flush into
the deck and the side decks and coachroof
offer uncluttered areas without steps or
obstacles.
The cockpit is divided into two distinct
areas, for sail handling and for relaxation.
Anyone wishing to enjoy the sun can do so
on one of two sun lounges in the forward
part of the cockpit which is also the best
place to enjoy lunch at the two large cockpit
tables, or a barbeque from the grill in
the stern of the Bavaria C45.
Steering and sail handling is done from the
two steering pedestals in the aft part of
the cockpit. Sails are set and trimmed with
the four winches next to the two steering
wheels, from where the helmsperson also
has the perfect overview of sails, instruments
and the Bavaria C45.
The dinghy garage on a 45-footer is a true
world first. Very easily, the dinghy disappears
via the bathing platform for sailing
and will no longer be a hindrance, as is
so often the case on yachts of this size,
on the foredeck. Should a dinghy not be
needed, the space is obviously the perfect
stowage area for diving gear or other
sports equipment.
Lines and hull design are by Cossutti Yacht
Design from Italy. Maurizio Cossutti and
his design partner Alessandro Ganz have
drawn on their huge experience in the
creation of racing and cruising yachts for
the design of the Bavaria C45. This is the
reason why the yacht shows outstanding
sailing performance and high speed
potential. Even a light puff of wind will send
the Bavaria C45 on her way, while handling
in heavy weather remains easy and safe
with very good performance.
The yard’s development team took great
care that the Bavaria C45 should not only
be fast, but above all also easy to sail. The
self-tacking jib for example makes tacking
incredibly easy. A large gennaker can easily
be set and retrieved on a furler and makes
for swift passages on a reach. Finally, the
yacht can be steered with perfect control,
under sail as well as when manoeuvring in
harbour.
The concept of different versions, as
introduced with the Bavaria C57, is taken
further by one more “sports” option with
the Bavaria C45. With the Bavaria C45
HOLIDAY you are ready to sail away on
the first day, because standard inventory
at Bavaria Yachts means that everything
needed by skipper and crew is on board,
including items such as anchor winch,
sails and navigation instruments. The
Bavaria C45 STYLE features exquisite
wood panels and first-class materials in
all details on board, while the Bavaria C45
AMBITION offers sporty design and best
sailing characteristics with all performance
deck gear needed for fast sailing.
And this, of course, without sacrificing
comfort. One example is the open stern
which still features the fold-out bathing
platform.
