Dear New Retiree,
Thank you for your service! You’ve worked hard for decades ser ving the community in a most noble and
important way: working for the growth, safety and development of their precious children. Because of you,
the students had safe and orderly transportation, nour ishing meals, clean and safe facilities and educational
experiences that will help them reach their full potentials. You did this work without thanks or the
compensation it was worth and now, you can say “Whew!”
Now what? You’ve left your position but not your profession. “A g reat public school for every student” is still
your vision, so what can you do now to make that happen?
Both GAE-Retired and NEA-Retired are focused on that vision, and our mission is to speak out and stand up
for public education. Since that vision and mission are still your passion, it’s time to join us on that journey. We
are the daytime faces on the frontline and the voices for our schools, students, and employees that cannot be
silenced. We can be there and speak freely to the policy makers and decision maker s when the active employees
simply cannot. And we have fun doing it!
As a GAE-Retired and NEA-Retired member, you also keep your consumer benefits that mean more than
ever now that you income is different. You now have time to use the travel and entertainment benefits, and you
should – play as hard as you’ve worked. And if you love to shop, keeping the discounts and rebates offered by
our Member Services will make that even more fun.
GAE-Retired needs your ideas and energy to keep doing the important work we do to support public
education in Georgia. Take a moment to exhale; then join us! We can’t wait to start working with you.
Always for education,
Your GAE-Retired fr iends
