We are so proud of the dedicated service that GAE-Retired
has shown throughout its history, supporting
the mission of GAE with advocacy and training but
most of all with political action. The work of GAE-Retired
during the midterm elections is yet another
example of the unselfish dedication to work for strong

us, we want to thank each of you who participated
at any level in the state of Georgia to let the retired
voices be heard. The 2019 legislative session will
again place GAE-Retired at the forefront to get

involved to protect public school funding and the
freedom to teach, to advocate for continued support
for TRS, to preserve Medicare and Social Security,
and to fight for passage of legislation to eliminate
the Government Pension Offset (GPO) and Windfall
Elimination Provision (WEP).
The 40-day session began January 14 with a new
Governor and Lieutenant Governor, and we are in
need of your continued participation. This year, we will
organize from every corner of the state and give life
to rapid response. We need your voices from Dekalb
County to Savannah; from Athens/Clarke County to
Whitfield County; from Atlanta to Carroll County; from
Richmond County to Columbus/Muskogee; from Cobb
to Middle Georgia; and from Ringgold to Valdosta.
