This represents approximately 53 film viewings per person per year, down from 61 in 2012. Audience numbers decreased across all television platforms, including digital multi-channel, which saw the first ever drop in audience numbers since the introduction of digital television in 2002. However, multi-channel film viewings were greater than terrestrial viewings for the second year in a row. Pay TV channels had the smallest audience with 438 million viewers.
