A LIVING HISTORY
The Eastern & Oriental Express has been making
history since its inaugural journey from Bangkok to
Singapore over 25 years ago. The idea came from
James B Sherwood, who had a better vision for
the carriages of the Silver Star Train built by Nippon
Sharyo and Hitachi in Japan. He purchased the
carriages and remodelled them in Singapore to
show an elegant aesthetic, echoing the spirits of
Indochina. Launching in September 1993, the train
has been capturing the hearts of thousands ever
since by delivering passengers magical moments
across Southeast Asia.
IMMERSIVE EXCURSIONS
Arrive in luxury and style as you visit Southeast
Asia’s three most dynamic and impressive cities,
Kuala Kangsar, Bangkok and Singapore. Between
each city visited, you’ll also stop off for inspiring
excursions along the way. Whether that be delving
into the pages of history at Kanchanaburi with a
boat trip and tour of the iconic River Kwai Bridge,
a trek to a hilltop for panoramic views and well-deserved
refreshments or a revel in rural Malaysia
with a tour through the iconic rice paddies. The
