your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
ă Enjoy a tour of China’s great metropolis, where east and west collide,
surrounded by skyscrapers and temples. Visit the vibrant Yu Gardens, the
Silk Museum and stop in the old town. Stroll along the Bund to admire grand
colonial architecture, and in the evening enjoy tasty, traditional local cuisine.
Ą You’ll have time in the morning to admire the fine arts and antiquities
of the Shanghai Museum and stroll around the People’s Square before flying
to Guilin where you’ll be taken to your hotel for an overnight stay.
ą Enjoy a relaxing cruise along the River Li. You’ll be surrounded by the
breathtaking beauty of the Karst peaks, lush rural greenery, grazing buffalo
and local fishermen. Reaching Yangshou, you’ll find the bustling markets
filled with exquisite handicrafts and local food. Transfer to your hotel for an
overnight stay.
Ć Spend the morning surrounded by Yangshou’s emerald green
countryside before returning to Guilin by road. Explore the impressive Reed
Flute Caves, the South China Pearl Museum and take the opportunity for a
pretty photo along the banks of the River Li.
ć Ride the bullet train to Chongqing where you’ll have the enviable
opportunity to get up close to China’s most lovable bear – the Giant Panda –
at the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo. After, transfer to Chongqing Wharf to
board your relaxing three night Yangtze River cruise.
Ĉ– –– ĉ During your cruise visit the Jade Emperor Scenic Area,
which has the largest image of the Jade Emperor in the world. You will also
pass through the Qutang and Wu Gorges where you will switch to a smaller
vessel and take a relaxing trip to the Goddess Stream to cruise through the
beautiful and narrow gorges.
Đ Fly to Xi’an, China’s ancient capital, where you’ll be greeted and
taken to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
đ Your morning is spent marvelling at the enigmatic ranks of life-sized
Terracotta Warriors; since their discovery in the 1970s they’ve intrigued
visitors. Visit the Xi'an Arts and Ceramic Exhibition Centre to see craftsmen
build life-sized models of the warriors, then stroll along the beautifully
preserved 14th century walls of Xi’an’s old town. In the evening enjoy a
special Tang Dynasty show with a Shui Jiao Dumpling banquet, a local
delicacy.
Ē Today take a trip to the Hanyangling Mausoleum, the joint resting
place of Emperor Lie Qui and his Empress Wang; notable rulers of the
Western Han Dynasty.
ē Fly to Beijing where you’ll be greeted and shown to your hotel. Rest
of the day at leisure.
Ĕ Take in the 2,000 years of historical significance as you wander along
the iconic Great Wall of China. Then visit the Jade Factory en route to the
tranquil Summer Palace, the former holiday home of the Qing emperors.
ĕ Visit Beijing’s symbolic heart; stroll across the famous Tiananmen
Square into the sprawling magnificence of the Forbidden City. Soak up the
imperial riches which surround you including the Gate of Supreme Harmony
and the harmonious Temple of Heaven. Enjoy a rickshaw ride and later opt
for a fitness or dance group session. This evening savour Beijing’s delicacy -
Peking Duck.
Ė After breakfast you’ll check out and transfer to Tianjin port to embark
Quantum of the Seas®.
