Elizabeth Sander is executive vice
president and chief actuary of
Odyssey Group Holdings based
in Stamford, CT. In her role as
chief actuary, she is responsible
for pricing, reserving, business
planning and data analytics
worldwide for Odyssey’s
reinsurance and insurance
divisions.
Sander is also responsible for
the global claims function that
ensures timeliness of payments and accuracy of reserves, as well as
oversight of any litigation or settlement negotiations with clients. She
joined Odyssey in 2005 and served as senior vice president and chief
reserving actuary until 2014.
Prior to Odyssey, Sander served as senior vice president at Alea
North America where she set up the actuarial function and was
responsible for the oversight of its North American legal entities,
including the reinsurance, insurance and alternative risk divisions.
She began her career at the Reinsurance Corporation of New York.
Sander is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a
member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She holds a BSC in
applied math and statistics from the State University of New York
(SUNY) at Stony Brook.

Veronica Scotti was appointed
Swiss Re chairperson, public sector
solutions in July 2018, succeeding
from the role as president & CEO of
Canada and the English Caribbean,
based in Toronto.
Scotti joined Swiss Re in 1999
in London through the acquisition
of Fox-Pitt Kelton, a boutique
investment bank where she worked
as corporate finance advisor.
After moving to Zurich in 2002,
she gained reinsurance experience through roles in strategy, risk
management and products. Since 2007 she held various client-facing
positions including head of business development EMEA, and key
account manager in Zurich. As client executive in Armonk, New York,
she had the global responsibility for some of Swiss Re’s largest clients,
managing an international team of key account managers.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Scotti worked in investment banking in
the UK, Switzerland and Italy with Banque Paribas, Union Bank of
Switzerland and Banco di Napoli.
She holds an MBA from the SDA Bocconi School of Management
in Milan, and a Master’s degree in international commerce from the
Naval University Institute, Naples, Italy.
