Kerian Bunch is an accomplished attorney and member of
executive management with a proven track record in the
insurance industry. She has more than 30 years of business and
legal experience. Bunch joined Aspen Insurance in February
2013 as EVP & general counsel, US Operations. She began her
legal career at Chadbourne & Parke, after which she spent 10
years in reinsurance leadership and in legal roles at Fireman’s
Fund (Allianz). She served as general counsel of Esurance
before joining Aspen.
Why did you choose to work in this industry?
After law school, I was practising law with every intention
of becoming an environmental attorney. It didn’t take long
for me to realise that the reinsurance practice group handled
some of the more interesting cases at the firm. Re/insurance
disputes often involve large-scale or even global issues with
sophisticated parties who require creative lawyering. I was
