to follow. A lot of my focus has centred on inspiring and
motivating people to support change, managing frustrations
and continuously learning.
What was the most significant development you’ve seen
over the last 12 months?
The most significant development for our industry is the
urgency to put the customers at the centre of what we do.
The customer has the power and it is our task to be there for
them so they prefer and choose us. We have to speak their
language, be closer, simpler, more innovative and to care for
Has the profile of women in re/insurance been raised in
Gender equality, diversity and inclusion have strengthened

and to complement my broader academic education.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?

transformational changes. Change is a theme and not just a
single event in my career, and has been present in most of the
roles I have accepted. I enjoy managing the diversity of culture,
personality and style differences, and how these need alignment
and integration to deliver on a targeted outcome. It also means
managing oneself and one’s approach to diversity and change.
What has been the biggest challenge you have encountered?
Aligning momentum and pace with the reality of a corporate
landscape and different cultural preferences and rhythms.
One cannot drive change alone, and people need to be able
