Bred by Mark Verhaeghe, this 30 inch stallion produced many foals for JC Williams-Dell Tera Mini Horse Ranch. This is Vulcan Light Vant Huttenest. “Jeff” a 19 hand Clydesdale from the 1977 Anheiser Bush Team meets Wishing Star Golden Treasure, a 30 inch yearling filly owned by Pat & Clinton DeWitt. These big and little comparison photos were quite common in the early years, and typically featured a young horse to show a dramatic size difference. 54 Miniature Horse World JUNE/JULY 2013 Poco Doc, a son of Roan Ranger, was Polly Weisberg’s first show gelding. He was one of those exceptional horses who seemed to be great at everything…except driving. When his previous owners attached a tire to him during a training session, it rattled him so much that he never accepted it. Polly discovered that in an obstacle class when she was asked to drag an object and Poco Doc lost it! He was a great show horse, and excelled in most every other event Polly showed him in. In 1983 the Calgary Stampede Grand Champion Mare and Champion in Pleasure Driving was Kraus Kings Twiggy, shown by Portia Sue Johnson- Kalinka of Sterling, CO. Gum Trees Sweetheart captured a weanling filly title in 1984.
