43 InnovativeHealthMag.com (or Mushroom, for a Vegan option) & Asparagus Pomodoro, however, it’s easy to find something to fit your taste and stick to your diet or lifestyle. There are plenty of wines and beers to choose from, if cheating on your diet is on your own menu-plan for a brief meal. Tasty dishes always start with the finest ingredients, and 501 stocks its shelves with the best local products. They recently announced that organic chicken is proudly now served, as are other meats, as available. 501 General Manager Joe Kukla boasts that they “try to keep it as local as possible,” enabling you to help support the local economy while enjoying a delectable meal made with genuine, high-quality ingredients... at a great price. Modern and artful, 501 is a perfect dining choice for any occasion. Also to announce: A Sushi Bar recently opened at 501, marking the first Downtown Flint bar to offer this popular specialty. If you are new to the world of sushi, 501 is the place to start. Speaking personally, I was once weary of the sushi world, but I have been won over by the specialties at 501. The 501 roll is theie most popular, and a good “first” to try. The Hawaiian roll is a proper runner-up. Pair all of that rolled-up goodness with your favorite craft beer or wine, and you’re on your way to a classy “Thirsty Thursday.” Chopsticks included. Every last Thursday of the month, Wine vs Beer happens at 501. This is a reservation-only, limited-seating event that includes five courses paired with a beer or wine that has been selected to complement each dish. Some of the plates served at this event include: Veal Sweetbreads with a Red Wine Reduction Sauce; Vegetable Quinoa Salad; Roasted Bone Marrow with Garlic Crostinis; and Pecan Tarts. This event is a great way to try out new foods that have been paired with a delightful beer or wine, and learn about them along the way. Now under the Redwood Management group, 501 is a member of the highly respected (and awarded) group of restaurants that include the Copperwood Grille, Bubba O’Malleys, Mexico at the Market, and Redwood Steakhouse. 501 regularly hosts events like Tap Takeovers and Wine vs Beer to keep patrons entertained while they enjoy great food and drinks in an inviting atmosphere. A new menu has recently rolled out. But you will still be able to find traditional 501 favorites like Chicken & Waffles, Bacon Wrapped Dates, and the award-winning White Chicken Chili. There are 24 beers on tap, most of which are local. Michigan breweries include Latitude 42, Perrin, B. Nektar, Founders, and 51 North. If beer isn’t your taste, there is a vast selection of fine wines and hand-crafted cocktails always worth trying (Servers are helpful with suggestions about which beers and wines complement your dish). Catering is available, and a great way to share the local deliciousness with your business or coworkers, family, and friends. Email marketia@501barandgrill. com to get started with a catering order.
