The first half of each program features a speaker for educational purposes and the second half will be support time for survivors and their caregivers. The series will cover a variety of topics and speakers include: physicians, speech language pathologists, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians and social workers. COMMUNICATION GROUP For patients who have experienced a stroke and continue to have difficulty in their ability to communicate. Participants can improve their communication abilities and interact with those who have similar deficits through group discussions, readings and games. Dr. Tummala often leads educational sessions of McLaren’s Stroke Education and Support Group. Frank and Mabel are devoted group attendees, constantly inspiring and encouraging new members to the group. They were discussing the severity of Frank’s stroke at this April 20, 2016 group session.
