Take the Lead. s Candidates for GAE President, Vice-President, and Secretary Treasurer shall submit their early nomination forms to the GAE Executive Director between September 1, 2015 and November 15, 2015 on the official nomination form. www.gae.org | 21 ELECTION NOTICE Election Nomination Notice for GAE Executive Officers – 2016 Election An election will be held at the 2016 Spring Representative Assembly to Elect: GAE President to succeed Sid Chapman Vice-President to succeed Charlotte Booker Secretary-Treasurer to succeed Lisa Morgan Candidates for Executive Office shall be Active Certified or Active Educational Support members and shall have been Active Certified or Active Educational Support members for at least two years immediately preceding the election. The term of office for President, Vice-President, and Secretary-Treasurer shall be two years. The term shall commence on the day following the NEA Convention. Executive Officers may be elected to no more than two terms to the same office. Terms may be consecutive. Please review the GAE Uniform Code of Elections (UCOE) on our website at www.gae.org for a detailed explanation of the rules and procedures for candidates including eligibility, nomination procedures, publication procedures, and campaign procedures. To access this document go to www.gae.org, login into the members only site, then go to MEMBERSHIP & ADMIN, click on MEMBER CENTER, then click on GAE Documents and Information, and then open the Representative and Board of Directors Policies document. The UCOE begins in Section 12.100 of the Representative Assembly and Board of Director Policies. Nomination Procedure Candidates for GAE Executive Offices desiring early qualifying must use the official nomination form available on the GAE website or in the official publication. The nomination should be mailed or transmitted directly to the office of the Executive Director. GAE will not accept responsibility for non-receipt of nominations addressed to any other person or office at GAE. Early qualifying nomination forms for GAE Executive Offices must be postmarked or transmitted between September 1st and November 15th. Candidates who wish to submit a statement (up to 250 words) and a photo for GAE’s publication and/or website may submit them with the nomination form by mail, or may email them (preferably) directly to Herby Agnew, Editor, at Herby.Agnew@gae.org. Candidate statements exceeding the 250-word limit will be edited to delete all words following the 250th word. Candidate statements and photos must be received by February 1, 2016 in order to be published online and in print.
