STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT K-12 26 Policy GCS 2010-11-11-03 and 2010-11-12-04 General Rules: Students are expected to respond immediately and respectfully to directions given by any authorized school staff members. 1. Vandalism, fighting, bullying, intimidation, and threatening others will not be tolerated, nor will profane language and discourteous, and/or rude behavior. Restriction and/or suspension of offenders will result. 2. K-6 students: After recess, students are to proceed immediately to their line-up area. The restroom facilities and drinking fountains are to be used before the signal to return to the classroom is given. 3. Students are to walk on campus at all times. 4. Students are to enter the classrooms quietly and carry out the teacher’s directions. 5. Students are to raise their hands and be recognized before speaking, unless otherwise directed. 6. When participating in group activities, students are to speak with appropriate volume and tone of “indoor” voice. 7. Students must have permission to leave any classroom. Only adults listed on the student’s emergency card may check a child out of school during the day. All students must be checked out through the office. 8. Personal grooming is to be done in the restroom only. 9. Students are to be responsible when using school materials, to prevent waste and damage. 10. Students are expected to keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times. 11. Unless authorized by the teacher, students are not permitted to bring personal items to school, including, but not limited to, the following: money, gum, candy, pogs, poker chips, Dice, all playing cards, BB’s, matches, fireworks, sling shots, any weapon or weapon look-alike, any projectile item (such as clips, rubber bands, permanent markers, etc.) skateboards, roller blades, roller shoes, tape players, radios, toys, and other personal items. (This includes hand-held electronic games, iPods, iPads, personal tablets or television and computer games unrelated to lessons.) 12. Students wishing to confer with the Executive Director or designee in his/her office must first obtain the secretary’s permission and schedule a time to do so. 13. Students must have a health/office pass to come to the office. 14. Use of the school facilities, other than during recess, must be authorized. 15. Bullying will not be tolerated under any circumstances, including, but not limited to, name calling, teasing, verbal, electronic, or physical threats specifically toward a pupil or school personnel and is subject to suspension. 16. No Student or Parent may sell any items or personal property on the campuses unless it is an approved ASB or PTAC fundraiser. 17. No gambling. The Guidance Charter School will provide classroom environments that are quiet, orderly, and conducive to learning. Each student will have the opportunity to learn without interference from others. Students are expected to exhibit acceptable citizenship and to be responsible for their actions. CLASSROOM RULES K-12 1. Stay on task. 2. Come to class prepared to learn with all required materials, homework, etc. 3. Use quiet voices when give permission to speak. 4. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 5. Keep working area organized, neat and clean. 6. You are responsible for school issued textbooks.
