19 WORLD LANGUAGE STUDY The Guidance Charter School selects the Arabic language to be the world language taught to all students throughout the school year, in grades K-8th. Students may be scheduled to go to a different classroom for Arabic language, or an Arabic language teacher may come to their regular classroom. Arabic and other world languages such as Spanish and American Sign Language for grades 9-12 will be included as an elective class. Two years of foreign language is a requirement for graduation. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY All Students K-8: According to our charter all students will have weekly computer lab time. This is their opportunity to practice technology skills, engage in research projects, book reports, and math and reading assessments. UNIFORM COMPLAINT/CONCERN PROCEDURES WHEN YOU HAVE A CONCERN If you have a concern or question, please contact the person with responsibility in the area of your concern. Please use the guidelines below to identify the person to contact: Contact the teacher if you have questions about:  Your child’s progress.  Your child’s social/emotional adjustment to school.  Problems with homework.  Classroom instruction.  Classroom discipline.  Volunteering in the classroom. Contact the Principal or Vice Principal if you have questions about:  General instructional program.  General operation of the school.  School-wide activities.  School safety issues.  School discipline policies.  Special program placement.  Requests for assessment or special services.  Your child’s school records.  Classroom placement information.  Discipline problems on the way to/from school.  Playground problems. UNIFORM COMPLAINT PROCEDURES The school has established procedures to address allegations of unlawful discrimination and complaints alleging violation of state or federal laws governing educational programs.
