SHIRTS 1. No offensive logos, writing, silk screening, slogans or embroidery that depict negative, violent, sexual, racial meanings or which promote alcohol, drugs, indecency, or gambling. 2. Polo-style, collared shirt, turtleneck, pullover, or sweatshirt with hood is allowed. 3. Hoodies worn in school must be green or white with GCS logo or no logos, no other hoodies are 13 allowed. Hoods may not be worn indoors. 4. No see-through, sheer or lace tops, bare midriffs, spaghetti straps (less than 1”), and halter-tops. 5. No exposure of stomachs, upper chest area, or cleavage. 6. Shirt hemline cannot exceed fingertip length. SHORTS, SKIRTS, DRESSES 1. Waistbands for shorts must be worn at waist level and not larger than one size above the actual waist measurement. 2. Shorts should fall at or below the third finger when arms hang down to the side. 3. Skirts and dresses should fall at or below the knees and must be worn with shorts underneath at all times. 4. Skirts and dresses worn above the knees are permitted only when wearing leggings (not tights or pantyhose) underneath. Regardless of when leggings are worn, skirts, dresses, and shorts must be no shorter than the third finger of the hand when down by the student’s side. 5. Shoulders and backs must be covered 6. No torn, ragged or ripped styles. PANTS 1. No sweat or pajama style pants of any fabric, coveralls, painter pants or overalls. 2. Waistbands must be worn at waist level and no larger than one size above the actual waist measurement. 3. No slits in cuffs; pants must not drag on ground. 4. No wide legged pants. 5. No torn, ripped or ragged styles. 6. No Blue Jeans – except on Free Dress Fridays. 7. No skin tight pants FOOTWEAR 1. No combat, steel-toed boots, and no high heels more than 2”. 2. Laces must be tied up to the top not under the foot or tongue of the shoe. 3. Closed toed sandals must have heel strap. 4. No slippers. 5. No skate shoes, open front, or shoes with wheels will be allowed. 6. Socks must be worn mid-calf or lower when wearing shorts. JEWELRY 1. Males: Watch only 2. Females: Small pierced jewelry in ears only. No eyebrow, nose, cheek, lip or tongue jewelry. No Spacers/gauges! 3. No belt buckles with initials; no chains. HEAD GEAR 1. No head gear is allowed with offensive logos, writing, silk screening, slogans or embroidery that depict negative, violent, or racial meanings or which promote alcohol, drugs, indecency, or gambling. 2. Brims must be worn forward.
