The CONCRETE Times THE NEWS FROM THE INDUSTRY & The UK CONCRETE SHOW 2015 • Volume 2 • Issue3 • March 2015 • SHOW REVIEW EDITION • anatomy of the concrete oscars• TOM FISHBURNE CARTOONs • FROM THE EDITOR • JAY SHILSTONE on overdesign•ALL ABOUT IN-SITU FLOOR JOINTS • WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT UKCS2015 • show demos a hit for the dsa RECORD 2015 SHOW ATTENDANCE ALMOST 7000 INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS ATTENDED THE 2015 INDUSTRY SHOWCASE AND THEY PLACED ORDERS IN EXCESS OF £10 MILLION DURING THEIR STAY AT THE NEC A fully assembled mobile batching plant acapable of producing 150 m3 of concrete within 12 hours of arriving on site and a truck mixer incorporating technology more usually seen on Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes F1 car were among the biggest hits of the industry showcase that celebrated it’s 5th birthday on it’s 3rd outing at the NEC, Birmingham! 206 exhibitors and 6859 attendees, up 14% over the previous year, with over £10 million worth of orders placed during the show, are the headline numbers from the all-action UK concrete industry showcase that took place at Birmingham’s NEC on the 25 and 26 of February, 2015. “The new layout of the show, with the the ‘Big Kit’ such as Mobile Batching Plants, Boom Pumps and Truck Mixers placed in the centre of the hall and the live diamond drilling, cutting and drawing demos taking place in the Drilling & Sawing Association area at the back left of the layout, were voted a great success by all at the show”, said Steven Callaghan, Event Director for show organisers, Marwood Events. Euroblend, the UK distributors for Italian manufacturers, Euromecc, built a complete 150 m3 per hour mobile batching plant in the show hall in a little over 12 hours then disassembled it at the end of the show in 10 hours, showing the industry that the Euroblend claim that you can “hit the ground running” with their FAST series batching plants, is totally justified.
