The CONCRETE Times • FEB 2015 THE UK CONCRETE SHOW 2015 - LAST MINUTE NEWS UKCS2015 - THE LAST MINUTE NEWS PLENTY HAS HAPPENED SINCE THE PRINT EDITION HAD TO BE CLOSED IN EARLY FEBRUARY, HERE IS SUMMARY OF ALL OF THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AT THE INDUSTRY SHOWPIECE 12 Drilling and Fixings specialists, Hilti, will be showing their DST 10-CA Wall saw system, the diamond wall saw with a productivity app, on their stand number DS7, facing the Drilling and Sawing Association Demo Zone. The DST 10-CA is powerful, yet easy to handle, the company claims and it’s compact design and practical trolley mean that it can easily be transported around site and set up quickly by just one person. It also features Hilti CutAssist wireless remote control, meaning no cables or cords between the user and the saw head. From a safe distance, the dimensions of the cut are entered keeping the user’s hands free for other tasks, while sawing is in progress. Leading manufacturer of high quality diamond tools and equipment, Superabrasive, will be showcasing their new LAVINA generation of grinding and polishing machines on stand number E41. The new series include again a full range of models, from 7- and 13-inch edgers to 32-inch Self-Propelled model and 38-inch Remote-Controlled Propane model. New Conjet distributor, Calder, will be exhibiting at the show for the first time. Both Calder and Conjet have concentrated on designing and manufacturing robust, high quality water jetting equipment for over 30 years. “This agreement marks a significant addition to Calder’s range of automated water jetting equipment. A key focus for Calder has been the move towards automation, removing the operator from the hazards of water jetting operations such as high reaction forces and high water pressures. The Conjet range will be a great asset in our strive for automation and we look forward to a long and beneficial relationship with a like-minded company.” said Sales Director, Steve Sharp. The UKQAA represents the producers and users of UK ash products from coal and biomass fired combustion plants - Fly Ash (known as Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA) in some applications) and Furnace Bottom Ash (FBA) are valuable constituents of sustainable construction products, valuable by products that may otherwise go to landfill. Other new first time exhibitors include Easikit, specialists in modular conveyors for the handling of loose material such as aggregates for concrete. We are also happy to welcome asset finance specialists, Portman Asset Finance, also at the show for the first time. Portman specialise in construction equipment finance that enables companies to carefully manage their capital outlays in such a way as to balance income and expenditure. La Roche, Essex based manufacturers of rebar bending and cutting machines since 1949, will be promoting their latest Rebar Bender, the LRB25T at UKCS2015. One of the new features is an additional Safety Switch, which comes into play if the Angle Switch was ever to fail, stopping the machine rotation immediately. The machine is then immobilised until the failed component is replaced. Hickman & Love are specialists in the fabrication and supply of pre-fabricated cages and bar reinforcement and this West Midlands based company are exhibiting at the show for the first time.
