The CONCRETE Times • FEB 2015 THE UK CONCRETE SHOW 2015 - FIRST TIME EXHIBITORS 2015 a big year for first timers (continued from page 8) REMOTE CONTROL FOR PUMPS AND TRUCK MIXERS RHC Lifting distributes Autec radio remote controls suitabe for controlling concrete pumps, truck mixers, batching plants and concrete vibrators. STEEL REINFORCEMENT SPECIALISTS West Midlands based Hickman & Love, have manufactured steel reinforcing products for the concrete industry since 1948. producing specialised products to customers requirements. More recently, they have used their technical expertise to produce bespoke multi-welding machines. TYRE PROTECTION PRODUCTS Somerset based Air Seal Products believe they can lower costs for much of the industry. Ready-mix plants and quarries are challenging environments for tyres punctures mean costly machine downtime, labour and frequently the considerable cost of replacing often very large, expensive tyres. Air-Seal products are capable of plugging holes up to 30 mm (1¼ inches) across heavier ply tyres - more than double any other sealant now available worldwide and the benefits of using their products are already being experienced with the concrete and quarrying industries. NEW CARBON NEGATIVE AGGREGATE PLANT WILL DOUBLE PRODUCTION IN 2016 BATCH CONTROL SYSTEMS See us both on Stand D39 at UK Concrete Show 2015 10 Featuring: Batch control from loading shovel cab Full link with Herbst despatch system Fully traceable records of all batches with email alert of any discrepancies Preventative maintenance facility Wireless station in loading shovel cab allows driver to control plant without having to climb in and out frequently Lowers injury risk whilst improving site operational efficiency Web: www.cantech-controls.com Email: firstname.lastname@example.org CARBON8 GETS PLANT GO-AHEAD Carbon negative aggregate specialist Carbon8 Aggregates is set to double production after gaining planning permission to build a second manufacturing facility at Avonmouth, near Bristol. Using an award-winning patented technique known as Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT), Carbon8’s manufacturing process permanently captures more carbon dioxide (CO2) than is generated during manufacture, making Carbon8 Aggregate (C8A) the world’s first truly carbon negative aggregate. As part of the production process, Carbon8 uses its patented technology to recycle waste flue gas treatment residues (FGT) from Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities, giving EfW operators an alternative to disposing of FGT into landfill. C8A can be used in pre-cast and ready-mix concrete as lightweight screed systems reducing the carbon footprint and the product weight.
