In 2013 we created the Nkwe Tactical Training Academy located in the Limpopo region of South Africa that provides military level training to local Cadets so more qualified Field Rangers can be deployed in the bush to fight this terrible poaching war. Our Recruits are trained by former So. African military personnel and even retired U.S. Navy SEAL veterans. The Academy utilizes cutting edge technology that includes the use of drones, and a LaserShot simulation firearms suite. In addition to the intense physical conditioning, the academy incorporates a S.A. Government certified education curriculum that includes wildlife conservation and management, crime scene investigation, ambush and apprehension procedures, self-defense, and tactical arms and laws training. All of this takes place within our Thaba Nkwe Conservation Sanctuary, providing real on the job training opportunities for Recruits as they protect the Rhinos of our Nkwe Rhino Breeding Program. While in the academy, Cadets receive a 6-month financial stipend to help support their family while they are enrolled. When they graduate and have an excellent career path, they are provided with a resume, letters of recommendation, and assistance in job placement. Once the Government’s Security Services Certificate is received, they are eligible to be employed as an anti-poaching Field Ranger and licensed security services operator in South Africa.
