Nicte Ciau Saavedra Nicte comes from a loving family with one sibling. If your thinking Nicte is an uncommon name, you are correct, but it has a special meaning to her. Her name comes from the Mayan word meaning flower. Her hobbies include Karate and swimming, especially, in the ocean. She loved swimming in the ocean growing up and she believes this started her desire to help marine life and becoming a Marine Biologist. Andrea Murillo Cisneros Andrea is one of four children in her family. Her hobbies include reading a good novel as well as listening to her favorite music. She enjoyed going to school and made outstanding grades throughout high school. She sees herself as a very curious person, and feels the ocean is a very mysterious place, since we still do not know much about it or all the species that occupy it. Once she finishes her undergraduate degree she wants to be a teacher in the CICIMAR after completing her Master’s Degree. Guillermo Vallarino Orozco Guillermo is a kind and loving individual with two siblings. He is a very active person that loves playing tennis, soccer, and all types of ocean related activities. His family would spend Sundays at the beach and this is what peaked his interest in the ocean. His favorite marine species is the shark. He hopes one day he will help with the conservation of sharks and help people understand them. He wishes that people will get a better understanding of the shark so they are not so afraid of them.
