ASPCA RACHAEL RAY $100K CHALLENGE From June 1 to August 31, 2014, Foothills Animal Shelter participated in the 5th and final year of the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge, a national competition to save more lives than ever before through adoption, reunification and transfer programs. During those three months, Foothills Animal Shelter saved a recordbreaking 2,679 cats and dogs, 1,006 more pets than during the same time frame in 2013. As a result, Foothills Animal Shelter ranked 4th overall in the ASPCA National Challenge and won 1st place in the Division Challenge. ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2,165 Cats & Dogs Adopted 466 Pets Returned to Owners 48 Animals Transferred to Rescue Partners 10,177 Hours Volunteered 22 Adoption Specials Donna Goes Home Donna was one of our favorite felines, but unfortunately she didn’t find her family for more than a year. It is rare for a pet to be with us for that long, so our staff took it upon themselves to get Donna adopted, deciding not to shave until she found her forever home. Happily, on June 1, kick-off day for the Challenge and 16 months after she first came to the Shelter, the staff celebrated Donna going home. $100K CHALLENGE 6 Foothills Animal Shelter 2014 Report to the Community
