2014 Report to the Community

IF IT WERE ONLY THIS EASY FOR A LOST PET TO FIND ITS WAY HOME. LICENSE YOUR PET, and we’ll know who to return it to should it get lost. PET LICENSING In 2014, 46,063 licenses were issued in unincorporated Jefferson County, Arvada, Edgewater, Golden, Lakewood, Westminster and Wheat Ridge. When pets are licensed, Animal Control Officers are often able to take lost pets directly home, skipping the need to bring them to the Shelter altogether. We continue to spread awareness of the benefits of pet licensing so we can reunite more lost pets with their owners and decrease the number of stray animals coming through our doors. A Jefferson County pet license not only helps get lost pets home, it also helps support the life-saving care we give to thousands of homeless animals each year. Many thanks to Barnhart Communications for their creative contribution to the licensing campaign. Foothills Animal Shelter 2014 Report to the Community 5
