ANETTE BRONDER

Anette Bronder is group chief
operating officer (COO) of Swiss
Re. She assumed the role of group
COO and also became a member of
the group executive committee in
July 2019.
Bronder started her career with
Hewlett Packard, specialising in
IT and consulting, and held a
number of senior management
positions. She was responsible
for large delivery, consulting and
services organisations, and was director software services for Central
& Eastern Europe.
In 2010 she was appointed director of enterprise technology at
Vodafone in Germany and from 2013 to 2015 was the director of
the enterprise delivery and operations division of Vodafone Group
worldwide and was based in London.
In 2015 Bronder joined T-Systems International as director digital
division where she oversaw the new growth areas of internet of things,
public cloud and healthcare for Deutsche Telekom. In 2017 she took
on additional responsibility for Deutsche Telekom’s global security
portfolio and security operations.
Bronder holds a Master’s degree in economics and social sciences
from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
Bronder is passionate about technology and digital transformation,
since technology impacts not only all our lives but also every part
of the insurance value chain. Technology has become an essential
enabler for businesses, not just for driving efficiency and speed, but
increasingly for establishing new business models. The ability to
embrace this shift requires putting digitisation at the core and in
close collaboration with partners.
Bronder is pushing for innovation, the continued digitisation
of the entire reinsurance value chain, and improving the efficiency
of the Swiss Re business in anticipating and managing risk, from
natural catastrophes and climate change to aging populations and
cybercrime.
MAYA BUNDT
Job title: Head of cyber & digital solutions
Company: Swiss Re
Maya Bundt is head of cyber and
digital solutions at Swiss Re. She
is responsible for developing and
implementing Swiss Re’s cyber
reinsurance strategy, and for
driving digital innovation and
solutions. Previously, Bundt was
chief of staff to the group’s chief
strategy officer and worked in
Swiss Re’s Information Technology
Division. She started her career at
The Boston Consulting Group as a
strategy consultant.
Bundt holds a PhD in environmental science from the ETH Zurich
and is a member of the global future council for cybersecurity of the
World Economic Forum. She supports a number of national and
international digital economy and cyber risks initiatives and has
published several articles on those topics.
She is a member of the cybersecurity committee of ICTswitzerland,
a partner for governance of digital risks at the International Center
for Corporate Governance, and she co-chairs the cyber risk insurance
working group of the Swiss Insurance Association. She is also an
independent director on the board of the Swiss bank Valiant.
Bundt is passionate about cyber risk resilience, as well as diversity in
insurance and security. Cyber risk resilience is of utmost importance
not only for the stability of companies and whole economies, but also
for the wellbeing of people.
Bundt is a regular public speaker on diversity and inclusion in
insurance and on cyber risk topics and tries to foster progress where
ever she can.
