However, outside of the well-known reinsurance hubs, the industry is less advertised and promoted at the collegiate level. This results in a disproportionate amount of graduates chasing Wall Street-type opportunities. From the perspective of someone who went to university in the US, it would help if reinsurance was something more prominently addressed in the curriculum. Do you think the reinsurance industry offers good opportunities and career development to young professionals? The reinsurance industry as a whole (traditional and alternative) offers tremendous career development for young professionals. Fear of the unknown coupled with lack of information inhibits more young professionals from entering the reinsurance market. The reinsurance market should continue to provide ample opportunity for career development and success for those willing to think outside the box. What are your aspirations for the future? The landscape of the market is changing. My objective or aspiration is to be at the forefront of this change and be a significant contributor to Elementum’s business now and in the future. The industry should be attractive to young professionals globally due
