2017 L.I.B.T. Rules & Regulations Flounder Tournament Rules 1. All I.G.F.A. rules apply with the following exceptions a. Live bait and lures permitted b. Anglers may be assisted by another angler during the battle or hand off the rod to another angler. c. The rod may rest in a holder or gunwale of the boat while the fish is being played. d. All flounder must be of legal length to qualify. The current regulation is 18 inches and 3 fish per angler e. Each boat may have a maximum of 6 lines in the water. Bluefish Tournament Rules 1. All I.G.F.A. rules apply with the following exceptions: a. No Spreader Bars or Umbrella rigs may be used at any time in any form for any reason b. Downriggers, planers and line planers are permitted but NO HANDLINES! c. Dead bait, lures, live bait, chumming, casting, chunking and jigging are allowed. d. Anglers may be assisted by another angler during the battle or hand off the rod to another angler. e. The rod MAY rest in a holder or gunwale of the boat while the fish is being played. f. All bluefish must be of legal length to qualify. The current regulation 15 fish per angler. g. Each boat may have a maximum of 6 lines in the water including teasers. Tuna Tournament Rules 1. All I.G.F.A. rules apply with the following exceptions: a. Single hook spreader may be used b. Downriggers, planers and line planers are permitted but NO HANDLINES! c. Dead bait, lures, live bait, chumming, casting, chunking and jigging are allowed. d. Anglers may be assisted by another angler during the battle or hand off the rod to another angler e. The rod MAY rest in a holder or gunwale of the boat while the fish is being played. f. All Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna must be of legal length to qualify. Captains are responsible for adhering to NMFS regulations for length and number of fish. g. Each boat may have a maximum of 7 lines in the water not including teasers and dredges.
