6.1 Arrival & Departure In order to ensure the safety of your child/ren we ask that you walk your child/ren into the classroom and sign them in/out of the program daily. Parents/guardians are responsible for confirming their child’s arrival with a staff member. Staff cannot be responsible for children that are left in the hallway, or arrive at the child care centre unescorted. When departing from the program, school age children will not be permitted to leave the program unescorted or to walk home with a friend. Parents must have a responsible person, who is a minimum of 16 years of age pick up your child from the centre. 6.2 Registration Existing families, who withdraw from the program and wish to re-register at a later time, must complete and submit the online waitlist form and follow up with the Area Supervisor for space availability. If a space becomes available you will be required to pay the non-refundable registration fee upon returning to the program. Our programs begin in September, if you wish to delay your start date beyond September and require a space full fees are required to hold space. Please note: Vacation credits do not apply to our kindergarten-school-age programs. 6.3 Snacks and Lunches Two Nutritious snacks are offered in the program. Our AM snack is a light snack (not breakfast) that is offered from 7:00 AM to the start of school and is prepared on-site by our staff. PM snack is offered and in some locations made on site or catered by Yummy Caters. Both the AM/PM snacks follow the Canada Food Guide. A hot catered lunch will be provided on P.A Days and during the Winter/March Break. 6.4 Illness If your child is absent from the program due to illness, we ask that you call your respective centre to report your child’s absence. If your child becomes ill during the school hours, the school staff will be responsible for notifying parents. Alternatively if the child becomes ill during the before/after school program, the child care staff will be responsible for notifying parents/guardians. For everyone’s well being, sick children cannot be admitted to the program. To comply with the Ministry of Education regulations which covers enrolment, ratios and age groupings children cannot be accommodated in the child care centre while awaiting arrival of parent/guardians if it is outside his/her regular enrolment hours. 6.5 Extra-Curricular Activities It is important for you to inform the child care centre of the child/ren involvement in after school activities, which may lead to his/her absence or lateness to the after school program. If your child will be participating in after school activities, it is the responsibility of the child and or the school staff to ensure that the child arrives to the after school program safely.
